With the launch of the F50 SPARKFUSION, adidas signals a major shift in football footwear – designing a football boot built exclusively for women, informed by the anatomy, movement, and demands of the female game.
At the centre of this innovation is Stina Blackstenius, whose playing style—fast, sharp, relentless—mirrors everything the new boot was created to support.
“I really like these boots,” says Blackstenius. “I’m really happy that these are specifically designed for women’s feet. It feels like that’s the next step if we want to develop ourselves and women’s football even more.”
adidas’ most extensive study into women’s football footwear needs has produced a boot that goes beyond aesthetics. With a narrower heel, improved lockdown, tailored arch support, and a newly engineered soleplate, the F50 SPARKFUSION directly responds to the pressure points and movement patterns of elite women players. In testing, athletes completed agility drills faster than in unisex designs.
Blackstenius immediately felt the difference: “They feel really light and easy, which will for sure give me a feeling of being faster and freer. They also feel really comfortable which is also a really big part of wearing boots.”
Speed and directional changes are the core of her game. “For me, speed and quick changes of direction are the biggest and most important things in my game,” she explains. “That’s why I’m also so happy that these boots give me that. I would say I feel a difference between these boots and other boots I’ve been wearing in a positive way.”
