From special-edition in-house releases to collaborations with the likes of Horween Leather Company and Supreme, Timberland has been showing plenty of attention to its 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Boots this season. Another style will join the lineup Thursday through a collaboration with international retailer Snipes.
This time around, Snipes leans into Timberland’s signature tree logo for a bold design that doubles as a storytelling campaign. Dubbed “Rooted in Concrete,” the Snipes x Timberland 6-Inch Waterproof Boots come in the shoe’s classic wheat colorway with a debossed toe featuring a tree root motif.
“This collaboration is about honoring the relationship between product and place,” Kelley Walton, CMO of Snipes USA, said in a press release. “Timberland has been an integral part of Snipes’ story, and this boot celebrates that legacy while recognizing the cities and communities that have made the footwear silhouette iconic. The root design symbolizes resilience and the ability to thrive wherever you’re planted–from Harlem to Brooklyn, West Philly to the South Side of Chicago, the communities surrounding our stores have shaped what this boot means. This collaboration celebrates all the neighborhoods where Timberland has become part of the fabric of culture.”
The “Rooted in Concrete” boots were co-designed by Snipes’ merchandising team and Timberland.
To introduce the project, Snipes and Timberland produced a 60-second short film which depicts the boot’s journey on a day through Harlem, New York. According to Snipes, the campaign “captures the durability and timelessness that have made Timberland boots essential, showcasing real moments of care, wear and pride that reflect Harlem’s cadence and humor.”
The Snipes x Timberland Premium 6-Inch Waterproof Boots will launch exclusively at Snipes stores and from snipes.com/usa in unisex and grade school sizing. Adult pairs will retail for $198, while grade school is priced at $110.
