Lainey Wilson‘s Western boot brand Golden West is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a limited-edition style, the cherry red Forget Me Not boot dropping Thursday at goldenwestboots.com.
The boot is named for the forget-me-not flower, which is known for attracting butterflies. Nodding to this, the boot features an inlay and an embroidered pattern of a flying butterfly in a metallic red. The silhouette includes a 15-inch shaft with a deeply scalloped top line as well as a classic snip toe and a two-inch leather wrap stacked heel. Additionally, the $425 boot comes with a charm necklace from Wilson’s own jewelry line.
Wilson explained the inspiration for the boot and how it traces back to her childhood, telling FN, “The entire Golden West collection is deeply personal to me — everything we do is inspired by memories and stories from my life. The ‘Forget Me Not’ boot is especially meaningful because we looked back to my first public performance, singing ‘Butterfly Kisses’ at my kindergarten graduation. We chose a monochromatic red for this limited-edition design as a nod to that special day.”
The country star’s story continued, “I vividly remember my teacher passing cherries out right before I had to get on stage. I put the cherry in my mouth, but, truthfully, I really hate cherries. I tried to swallow, but at center stage froze until my granny, who was also the principal, came up and held up her hand so I could spit the cherry out. Then, my first performance began. With the butterfly detail and this bold new color, they’re the perfect mix of sweet and nostalgic.”
The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer (this Grammy-nominated song lends its name to Golden West’s top-selling boot) launched her Western boot brand in 2025, telling FN last year, “I’ve been wearing boots since before I can remember — they’re the first shoes I remember putting on.
The brand hosted a New York City launch event ahead of Wilson performing at Madison Square Garden in October.
