Target Is Selling ‘Cute’ $40 Stretch Ankle Boots Similar to a Madewell Style Over 6x the Price

While you can absolutely wear boots all year long, fall is such a perfect season for booties. The cooler weather, the crunchy leaves and the way you can wear tights now without sweating like crazy are just some reasons why boots are perfect for autumn weather and outfits. Plus, a fall color palette goes so well with typical boot colors like black, brown and tan. One of Target’s newest ankle boots are perfect for fall too, and they are so similar to style Madewell sells that’s over six times the price.

We’re talking about Target’s Women’s Pippa Stretch Ankle Boots by their in-house brand, A New Day, which are currently $39.99. They’re a sleek bootie with a narrow, d-shaped toe, a seam down the middle and a stretchy sock for a fitted look. Also, like its name says, it is ankle-height. These boots also have some nice height with a 2.75-inch block heel with a rounded back and a zipper closure on the inner part of the shoe.

These boots are chic, cute and come in four colors: black, off-white, taupe and brown. One of these colors—taupe—has a suede-like fabric on the outside of the boot. Because of this, the taupe’s upper sock is made out of 100% polyester. But the other three colors are faux leather, meaning their upper sock is made with 100% polyurethane. All four of them have a 100% polyester lining, though.

These are still deemed “new” on Target’s website and they already have 19 ratings and reviews and 4 stars.

“Great Fall office shoe,” one shopper wrote. “I have narrow feet and they fit perfect[ly]. Typically I buy heels a half a size up but I didn’t for these. Not sure why people were saying they’re uncomfortable. I wore them with Nike ankle socks and they felt great all day.”

Another person called these the “cutest boots” and said they give off “almost a vintage type vibe.” And another shopper wrote that they’re “obsessed with these.”

“I got the pair they had for 2023 and loved them SO much,” they wrote. “These are slightly different with a thicker heel but otherwise pretty identical, they look cute with everything.”

These Target ankle boots are similar to a style that Madewell sells on the marketplace portion of their site: the Intentionally Blank Tabatha Boots, which retail for $262. These have nearly the same silhouette and design that Target’s boots have. They are narrow (except these have a square-toe, not a d-toe), have a seam down the middle and are slim-fitting. They also have the exact same type of block heel with a rounded back.

The main difference with the boots on Madewell Marketplace is that they’re made with real leather (which you probably could have guessed by the price) and the zipper is on the back of the shoe, not the instep. They also only come in the color espresso (which is similar to the brown at Target).

So, if you want a faux leather bootie that looks like a style that’s over $260 (but costs less than $40), Target’s Women’s Pippa Stretch Ankle Boots are worth checking out.
